Itinerary Day01: Chengdu to Lhasa ---------------L ----------3* Xiongba-Lha Hotel
Taking morning flight into Tibet, upon your arrival, local guide will meet you and transfer you to Lhasa. On the way, you can enjoy the heart - beating highland view along the Yalu Zangbu river (the longest river in Tibet, the lower reach in India is called Brham Putra river); in the afternoon, you are free for relax and more Oxygen.
Day02: Lhasa sightseeing -------------B/L ----------3* Xiongba-Lha Hotel
In the morning, visit the grand - looking Potala Palace, which was built in the 7th century for the King. In the afternoon, visit Jokhang temple and stroll in the famous local bazaar - Parkhor street.
Day03: Lhasa sightseeing -------------B/L ----------3* Xiongba-Lha Hotel
Visit Tsepung monastery which is the biggest monastery in Tibet. Then visit Sera monastery and Norbulingka which can give you deep impression of Tibet arts and civilization.
Day04: Lhasa to Namtso Lake -------B/L ------------Lakeside Guesthouse (no toilet)
Drive about 5 hours to Namtso Lake (245km to the north of Lhasa). On the way, drive into a valley to visit the Home monastery of Karma Kargyuelpa (The White Hat) -- Chupu monastery. After arriving the lake, enjoy the glory of sunset over it. By the lake, you will view the peak of Nyianchentangula (7162m).
Day05: Namtso Lake to Lhasa ----B/L -------------3* Xiongbala Hotel
Enjoy the sunrise beside the lake, then driveback to Lhasa city; on the way back to Lhasa. go and doa tour to Karma kargyuelpa's home monastery - Chupu monastery; return to Lhasa in mid afternoon
Day06: Lhasa to Gyangtse to Shigatse -----B/L --------------------3* Shigatse Hotel
Driving past the Gangbala pass(4800m), view the Yangdrok lake, then down by the old road to Gyangtse, visit the Karuola glacier, the Perkhor monastery in Gyangtse town. In the late afternoon, arrive at Shigatse.
Day07: Shigatse to Lhatse --------------------B/L --------------------Local guesthouse (shared toilet)
In the morning, visit Tashilunpo monastery, which is the biggest monastery in rear Tibet, and the permanent residence for Panchan Lhama. Inside are some stupas for the passed Panchan lhamas, and a 30 - metre high copper cast Future Buddha; then drivie along the Tibet - Nepal friendship highway westwards to Lhatse town. Before arriving, visit and touch the history of Tibet in 13th and early 14th century - the once capital of Tibet: Sakya monastery (the home monastery of Sakya - pa sect).
Day08: Lhatse to Tingri to Mt. Everest ----------------B/L --------------Rongbuk Guesthouse (shared toilet)
Leaving Lhatse early and pass the town - Tingri and the Lulu checkpoint to get to Mt. Everest. Between the diversion point (4km to the west of Luluchech point)of the highway and the Basecamp is a high pass (5125m, named zhegula pass), at this point, you can see 4 famous mountains of the world - Mt. Everest (8848.13m), Mt. Makaru (8463m), Mt. Luotze (8516m) and Mt. Qowowuyag (8201).
Day09: Base camp of Mt. Everest to Nyelam town ----B/L -------Nyelam Hotel
After enjoining the magnificent view of Mt. Everest in the morning, leaving for Nyelam. If weather is good, 15km to the basecamp, drive through a river to take a short cut of the road and see different view around Mt. Everest. View on this road is exciting. 40km before arriving Nyelam, at the high point on Pass - Lalongla (5065m) is a marverlous site for watching Mt. Xixababgma (8027m) to the northwest, and Peak - Labgyekhang (7374m), beside it are another two with respective height of 7072m to its west, and 7094m to its east.
Day10: Nyelam to Zhangmu border then Exit China -----------B
Leaving Nyelam town early down into the beautiful Zhangmu valley, upon your arrival, help you check out and send you to the friendship bridge.
